ICE BREAKER: What form(s) of evil make you angry the quickest? What form(s) of sin are you most prone to see as acceptable or minimize?
SERMON DIGESTION: Your chance to give your thoughts on the sermon.
READ: Genesis 3:14-24
How would you answer someone who questions whether God is right and fair to punish sin?
In spite of the punishment, what elements in these verses show that God would continue to care and provide for His creation?
Genesis 3’s curse focused on three categories. List two examples of how sin infects each category in your life through temptation or frustration.
During the sermon, Pastor Thomas repeatedly plead for believers to “hate and be angry at sin.”
Hating sin is a proper longing for God to restore things to His original design. This is what living a Gospel-centered life and seeking to expand God’s Kingdom is all about. We make it our life’s aim to join God in pushing back sin and restoring His glory so that lives can be healed in becoming like Jesus, the perfect man (1 Cor. 15:49).
1 Peter 4:8-10
Pray for God to give you a righteous outrage against sin and a desire to join His Kingdom work of expanding the healing news of Jesus farther.
